Remembering Commission Chair, E. Steven Collins

On behalf of the members and staff of the Mayor’s Commission on Literacy, we are deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden passing of E. Steven Collins. Known equally for his broadcasting expertise and community activism, E. Steven served as Chair of the Commission since 2010. His commitment to advancing adult education opportunities for all Philadelphians was unmatched. He will be sorely missed by all whom he touched with his voice, his heart, and his caring.
