Sherra Dunn’s family has lived within the Mantua community for more than 60 years. Mantua has changed a lot over that time; Sherra has recently noticed a change for the better. Sherra has become a frequent visitor to Drexel’s Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, located at 3509 Spring Garden Street, and, in particular, she has benefited from the Dornsife KEYSPOT’s open access computer lab.
“I wanted to increase my computer skills as well as apply for various jobs,” she said, indicating that the most useful thing about attending the KEYSPOT was assistance with revising her resume. “I’ve been unemployed for a year, and now I’m making a serious effort applying for employment.”
Sherra has applied for more than 15 jobs online at the KEYSPOT. “I’m starting to feel more comfortable about being on the computer,” she said.
Sherra added that she has enjoyed meeting new people in the community after attending one of Dornsife’s monthly community dinners, which occur the first Tuesday of every month at 6 pm.
She plans to spread the word about the Dornsife KEYSPOT to her family and friends.
According to Sherra, having something positive for the community is good. The KEYSPOT “creates a lot of opportunities. It’s very informative!”
