Job Listing News

The Office of Adult Education (OAE) is partnering with the Philadelphia Streets Department’s Future Track program to provide classroom instruction for program participants. The instruction will support participants in obtaining skills, learning positive work attitudes, and developing professional work habits and behaviors in order to prepare to succeed in today’s workforce environment. More information about Future Track is available here.

The facilitator will work in a collaborative team with a curriculum developer and job skills coach, and will be responsible for delivering courses twice weekly to approximately 30 learners. The course format is blended, with online content using OAE’s existing courses, face to face group work, and one-on-one support. Students will be assessed using the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) to ascertain their literacy and numeracy levels. All classes will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., from early March through June 30th.

The applicant must be available during the above days and times, and should confirm their availability in the application.

Required skills, credentials and experience:

We are looking for a facilitator who is talented at relationship building, teaching, and has experience working with youth (ages 18-24). The ideal candidate is local to Philadelphia and can facilitate online and in-person sessions, in a responsive, sensitive, and highly organized manner. Highly qualified applicants will have experience delivering job readiness courses, and teaching basic academic skills (Digital literacy, Reading, Writing, and Mathematics) that are contextualized to the workplace. Candidates must be willing to collaborate closely with an experienced curriculum developer, and to be trained in OAE’s existing curriculum.
