On November 17, 1965, UNESCO proclaimed September 8 as International Literacy Day (ILD). International Literacy Day aims to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies. Each year UNESCO reminds the international community of the status of literacy and adult learning. Partner with the Mayor’s Commission this September to promote the importance of adult literacy and share resources.International Literacy day (1)
