Take FREE classes at 9 Philadelphia Community Schools!

Adult education classes in Philadelphia Community Schools are designed to allow adults to take reading, writing, math and English as a Second Language (ESL) in neighborhood schools.

Have you ever thought about going back to school?

To qualify for classes, interested adults must be a resident of Philadelphia, 16 years of age or older and not currently enrolled in high school. The first step to enrolling in classes to schedule an Intake and Assessment Test appointment (a list of assessment dates can be found below). Classes for the Spring 2019 semester will begin in January 2019 with select schools continuing admission through February 2019. Classes at Philadelphia Community Schools are provided by the Center for Literacy, Lutheran Settlement House and New World Association.

Going back to school as an adult is easier than ever with convenient neighborhood classes offered during the day or evening!

Classes Available:

Adult education classes not only help adults improve their reading, writing and math skills, they’re about building confidence.

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes can help teach English language skills to non-native English speakers. Classes are available for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels.
