Present at the 2020 Technology & Adult Ed Conference

An update regarding the 2020 Technology + Adult Education Conference
Based on the most recent guidance from Philadelphia’s Department of Public Health regarding Covid-19, and in alignment with our partners at Philly Tech Week, the Office of Adult Education has decided to postpone our upcoming event – the Technology + Adult Education Conference, which was scheduled to take place on May 8.

We will be in touch when a new date is confirmed. We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause you. If you have already prepared a proposal, please do submit it, as we hope to have the conference at a later date.

In the meantime, please visit philaliteracy.org or phillykeyspots.org to check for any updates.

The Office of Adult Education in collaboration with Temple University’s Center for Community Partnerships, invites you to submit a proposal to present at the 32nd Annual Technology and Adult Education Conference. This year’s conference theme Access, Create, Explore: Digital Literacy in the New Decade. This one-day conference will be held May 8, 2020 on Temple University’s main campus in Philadelphia, PA from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Coming into a new decade, the concept of literacy is changing to capture more than ever before. Multiple literacies now include reading, writing, math, problem solving, and digital literacy. In 2020, digital literacy has become less of a preferred skill, and more of a requirement. Our conference theme “Access, Create, Explore: Digital Literacy in the New Decade,” invites adult educators and digital literacy practitioners to think about creative, student-centered, inclusive teaching strategies that provide access to opportunities for learners to integrate technology into their lives and obtain the skills needed to computers and the internet in their daily lives, jobs, and education.

About the Technology & Adult Ed Conference
