For a one-time investment of $5,000 that qualifies one adult for a job, the City and Commonwealth realize $6,750 in tax revenues and reduced expenses for public benefits each year. In addition, that adult also provides the following returns on that investment annually to family, neighborhood, and businesses in our City:

DONATE THROUGH UNITED WAY (donor code 7912).

$150,000: Establish a myPLACE℠ Campus in your company’s name for a full year and help up to 500 learners get assessed and enrolled in their first course with the support of an assigned learning coach.

$75,000: Co-sponsor a myPLACE℠ Campus in your company’s name for a full year and help up to 500 learners gets assessed and enrolled in their first course with the support of an assigned learning coach.

$50,000: Get branding rights for one year on the Office of Adult Education’s online course “Introduction to Adult Learning and Careers” for one year, taken by 75% of all new adult learners in Philadelphia, helping thousands of job seekers create resumes, improve digital literacy, and create their individual learning plans and career pathways.

$25,000: Co-sponsor the Office of Adult Education’s online course “Introduction to Adult Learning and Careers” for one year, taken by 75% of all new adult learners in Philadelphia, helping thousands of job seekers create resumes, improve digital literacy, and create their individual learning plans and career pathways.

$10,000: Sponsor 20 adults to take one online reading and writing or one online math course so they can improve their literacy, math, computer, and work-readiness skills.

$500: Help one adult participate in one online, accelerated course to improve his or her literacy or math, computer, and work-ready skills, as well as her or his employability.

SUPPORT THE PHILADELPHIA ADULT LITERACY ALLIANCE.  The Alliance was established in 2011 to bring together individuals and organizations that provide, coordinate, fund, regulate, support or benefit from adult literacy and workforce development services in Philadelphia. The Alliance meets quarterly and sponsors frequent professional development and networking opportunities throughout the year.

DONATE IN-KIND. Adult education programs and myPLACE℠ campuses need supplies like English/Spanish dictionaries, computers, tablets, and other equipment. The Commission can publicize opportunities or resources to help find the right home for your generous gift.
