The Technology and Adult Education Conference fosters innovation in adult education by hosting a community of dynamic, forward-thinking educators and practitioners with a shared goal of providing quality programming.

The 30th annual Technology and Adult Education conference will return to Philadelphia,  May 18, 2018 for a day full of interactive workshops, compelling speakers, engaging exhibitions, in-depth trend discussions, networking and much more.

Back to the Future

In the 30 years since the then Mayor’s Commission on Literacy (now Office of Adult Education) hosted the first

Technology and Adult Education Conference, technology use in education has gone through many changes, and in many, it has stayed the same.

Join us as we head back to the future, to explore how technology in adult education has evolved in the 30 years since the first Technology and Adult Education Conference. Reflect on how far we have come, think about where we are now, and look forward to what is ahead in the integration of technology into our work.

Several parking lots are located within walking distance. View a map of parking locations here and find rates here. Please be advised that parking is not included.
Broad Street Line: All local Broad Street subway trains stop at Cecil B. Moore Station (Broad and Cecil B. Moore Avenue).
 
By SEPTA Bus: The 4 and 16 buses stop on Broad Street at Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Montgomery Avenue, Polett Walk and Norris Street. The 23 bus stops on 12th Street (southbound) and 11th Street (northbound) at Polett Walk, Montgomery Avenue and Cecil B. Moore Avenue.
SEPTA Regional Rail: All lines stop at Temple University Station, located at 10th and Berks Streets.
Registration opens at 8:45 A.M.
Breakfast and lunch are included in registration. Vegetarian options are available.
Bring something to write with and a smart phone or other device
 for any Bring Your Own Device sessions. Complimentary WiFi will be available. Instructions will be at the conference.

About the Technology and Adult Education Conference

The Technology and Adult Education Conference is presented by the Office of Adult Education, in collaboration with Temple University’s. Adult learners require educational opportunities that help fulfill a variety of personal and professional goals. These goals can be achieved by using technology to expand access and increase opportunities for learners and the practitioners that serve them. Technology is a powerful tool that can be used to promote learner independence, enable flexible delivery of instruction, express creativity, and make learning more enjoyable.
